The Compassionate Friends

The Norman Region is working toward forming a chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have lost a child, whether through accident, illness or suicide.

The primary purpose is to aid in the positive reconciliation of grief and foster the physical and emotional health of bereaved parents and their surviving children.

Informational meetings will be held at the Primary Care Center, Flin Flon March 4th, 2011 at 1:00pm-3:00pm and again in the evening from 7:00pm-9:00pm.

Census 2011

The 2011 Census and the new National Household Survey (NHS) will take place starting in May 2011.
The kinds of positions they are needing to staff would be ideal for university students, stay-at-home parents or retirees. The work would be done primarily during evenings and weekends. If you would like to apply for a Census position please follow the link below.

SaskMan Border Bash

The SaskMan Border Bash Border Explorers 20th Anniversary will be held in the Flin Flon area on March 4th, 5th, 6th, 2011.

Friday 4th - 7:00pm Meet & Greet Registration Begins

Saturday 5th - 8-10am Breakfast & Final Registration
10:30am Snowmobile Parade
11:30am Guided Trail Riders Start

6-8:30pm Dinner Banquet & Co-op Awards

There will be a Frozen Ace's Poker derby on March 5th in conjunction with the SaskMan Border Bash. Registration at the Flin Flon Community Hall from 8-10am. Derby starts at 11am. $5250.00 in Prize Money!

NWMO Waste Management Kiosk

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization informational kiosk is now available for viewing at The Town of Creighton Office and The Creighton Recreation Culture and Tourism Centre. Any interested citizens from Creighton, Flin Flon and Denare Beach are invited to come and receive more information on the company and the proposed idea of a Nuclear Waste Management Facility.
